Our community has been through a lot over the last few years, and all of us are looking forward to resuming our normal habits and routines. Buckland Hills Dental is very excited to be open and providing all your needed dental care. We continue to keep patients’ well-being a top priority in our day-to-day operations, and have created schedules to allow time to properly disinfect rooms between patients.

We have made these alterations to help protect our patients and staff:

  • Our office will communicate with you before your appointment to ask some screening questions. You will be asked those same questions again when you are in the office, as well as have a temperature check.
  • Staff will also have screening questionnaires and temperature checks daily.
  • We have hand sanitizer in the reception area and other places in the office, and will ask you to use it when you enter the office and as needed.
  • Our waiting room no longer offers magazines, children’s toys, and so forth, since those items are difficult to clean and disinfect.
  • We have HEPA filters in each operatory and in the waiting areas.
  • There is a plexiglass barrier in the waiting room/reception area.
  • Specialized isolation and high-volume suction instruments are used to help decrease aerosols during most procedures.
  • Appointments are being managed to allow for social distancing between patients. This takes into account reduced waiting times in order to reduce the number of patients in the reception area at any one time.

Our office follows infection control recommendations made by the American Dental Association (ADA), the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA). The office also follows CT governor’s guidelines for best practices, developed by CT DPH in conjunction with CSDA, available here. We follow the activities of these agencies so that we are up to date on any new rulings or guidance that may be issued. We do this to make sure that our infection control procedures are current and adhere to each agencies’ recommendations.

We look forward to seeing you and are happy to answer any questions you may have about the steps we take to keep you, and every patient, safe in our practice. To make an appointment, please call our office. Thank you for being our patient. We value your trust and loyalty and look forward to welcoming our patients, neighbors, and friends to our office.

Sincerely,

The Buckland Hills Dental Team
